Erol Alkan & Richard Norris, otherwise known as Beyond the Wizards Sleeve have been remixing tracks on and off over the past few years. The two have just released a compilation of their body of work called "Reanimations Vol.1" .
What sets their portfolio apart from others is their ability to give their specimens an entirely different identity. Often blending in a variety of foreign substances and textures into their re-animations.
Below is a personal favorite of their work. It just seems like a perfect fit for a trippy remix duo to remix an already trippy indie rock track
Midlake - Roscoe (Beyond the Wizards Sleeve Mix)
"Whenever I was a child.. I wondered if my name had changed into something more productive like Roscoe, born in 1891 waiting for my Aunt Rosline....." WTF?
By the way if you're wondering what the beat is from (like I was). It's "You Make Loving Fun' by the Mac with a bit of reversed guitar sounds over the top.
