Classic New Order

The quickest way for me to know if I'm going to like you as a person to ask what kind of music you're into. Judging a person on how they answer this question is far from just but it's usually pretty accurate.

Personally I find this a really hard question to answer, I'm a self proclaimed music snob and it's usually impossible to answer without sounding like one. When I ask the question to others I'm always slightly apprehensive of their answer; if they say Bubba Sparxx and Insane Clown Posse that is a pretty good indication that the remainder of our single serving friendship will be filled with surface pleasantries and fake enthusiasm.

If the name New Order came up in your answer I'm positive you and I would become BFF 4 LIFE!!! ... I've found that fans of this band generally have good taste in a wide range of music, and tend to be rather pleasant people as well.

New Order formed in the wake of the demise of their previous group Joy Division, following the suicide of vocalist Ian Curtis. New Order has become the prototype for every rock/dance/indie/electronic band that has been formed since - you can still hear their biggest hits Blue Monday and Bizarre Love Triangle every Saturday night at a club near you, an undisputed testament to their longevity.

Here today, for you my new friend are my absolute favourite New Order tracks. The Krafwerkesque 'Your Silent Face', the Peter Hook vocal 'Dreams Never End', their first ever release 'Ceremony' (written by Ian Curtis) and my numero uno Procession

New Order - Your Silent Face

New Order - Dreams Never End

New Order - Ceremony

New Order - Procession

  1. haha I do the same thing and always get super ambiguous answers:
"um, well I listen to a lot of stuff..."
long live Joy Division and New Order.
