Marianne Faithfull

There are few rock & rollers who's stories can match up to volatile life of Marianne Faithfull. In 1965, when she was 18 she became one of Britain's biggest stars. She was a staple in the swinging London scene, she had a look and sound that was entirely her own. Move to 1970 and she's an addict, anorexic and living on the streets. Thankfully, Marianne made a successful comeback with her 1978 album Broken English, and has since transformed into a symbol of the pleasures and pitfalls of the 60's.

Today, my gift to you is a few of my favourite Marianne Faithfull tracks. Included are two amazing remixes, one by Baron Von Luxxury and the other by the always entertaining Osymyso.

Marianne Faithfull - Broken English (Baron Von Luxurry Slow Touch Remix)

Marianne Faithfull - Sex with Strangers

Marianne Faithfull - Like Being Born (Again with Osymyso)

Marianne Faithfull - Lola R. Forever (with Sly & Robbie)
